Walmart
Walmart has expanded its Walmart Plus InHome Program to ease consumer concerns about packages being left outside. Walmart partnered with Chamberlain to launch the myQ smart garage opener system in September. This allows delivery drivers to deliver orders directly to customers’ garages.
Amazon
Amazon has deployed CONDOR, or the Customer Order and Density Optimization Tool, to the US this year. This is to demonstrate the power of technology for optimizing delivery logistics. Amazon claims that the CONDOR program will save millions of miles in shipping by assessing orders at the fulfillment center.
Nuro
Nuro, an autonomous vehicle startup, has partnered with Uber Eats in order to test unmanned delivery of food in certain US cities. This partnership will last for ten years. Nuro will get a percentage of each delivery fee. However, customers won’t be charged extra for a bot to deliver their food. They may even save money as bots cannot accept tips.
GoTo
GoTo, a super app from APAC, launched its food delivery service in Indonesia in August 2022. The integration, named GoFood, will allow customers and merchants to order food seamlessly.
DoorDash
DoorDash is an American food delivery platform that launched Drinks with DoubleDash this October. This new feature expands on the DoubleDash functionality, which allows for multi-vendor orders. Customers can now place one order that includes both food and alcohol from different vendors without having to pay extra or meet any minimum order requirements.
