Mudgee Brewing Co.

Mudgee Brewing Co. is located in the heart of town in an old wool store that dates back 100 years. Live music is also played at the family-owned venue, as are trivia nights. Try a sampling paddle or a schooner Mudgee Mud Stout, first brewed in the year 1883.

Baker Williams Distillery

Visit the Baker Williams Distillery to sample handcrafted spirits, including gin and butterscotch. Booking a tasting is the best way to sample some of their signature drinks.

Three Tails Brewery & Smokehouse

Three Tails Brewery offers 21 craft beers and artisan spirits on tap, as well as cocktails, wine, and artisan spirits. This welcoming place is dog and kid friendly and offers a variety of indoor and outdoor areas, including an heritage shed. Smokin Bro’s famous meat smoker and delicious Texan BBQ will tempt you to come with an appetite.

Small Batch Brewery & Hop Farm

Small Batch Brewery uses fresh local ingredients and sustainable methods to produce their beers. Visit the brewery on Fridays and Sundays to sample their beers, buy homebrewing supplies, or mini beer kegs.

 

Hop & Clover Brewing & Mudgee Beer School

Hop & Clover Brewing makes ‘no-fuss’ beers. These include Mudgee Honey Ginger Beer and Irish Red Ale. The brewery is not open to the public, but you can purchase and sample the beer at Mudgee Farmers Markets, Moothi estate and Roths Wine Bar, Mudgee Rugby Union Club and other pubs around the country. Dave, the head brewer at Mudgee Beer School, also teaches classes in beer brewing.

Gulgong pubs are charming

There are many excellent pubs in the Mudgee area, but a visit to Gulgong’s historic gold mining town is a must to experience its charming establishments. The Centennial Hotel, or ‘The Cenny” as it’s affectionately called, was founded in 1972. It serves cold beer and old-fashioned country pub fare. The Prince of Wales hotel , was founded the same year and offers accommodation, food, and a free night bus. The family-run Post Office Hotel is just a few minutes away. It hosts live music and serves delicious food, as well as beer.
